Occasionally, we find ourselves bidding against others
attempting to offer cut rate deals. Invariably, it turns out the “deal” isn’t
so great when comparing apples to apples. So, we’ve prepared a list of steps we
always include, and others often exclude. When you compare, you’ll see why so
many families choose Focal Point Studios
for their cabinet finishes.

1 For a large kitchen these three steps can easily eat
up most of a week! Even though this part of the process is critical to
achieving a high quality, lasting finish, these are the very steps so often
skipped by others. Take shortcuts here,
and you’re finish is guaranteed to develop problems. We never skip steps,
we don’t take shortcuts, and we would never trust products or finishers that
do.
2 DIY products may be fineif you’re doing
the job yourself, but if you’re hiring a professional, then they should be purchasing
high quality products.
3 Skip this
step and you can BET on cabinets that chip and peel.
4 We’re always
dumbfounded when we hear about so-called professionals who skip doing the backs
of the doors. You will open you
cabinet door, won’t you? Do you really want the old finish to show? It takes
several extra days to complete the backs to match or compliment the fronts.
5 Spray equipment is expensive, and so many faux
finishers elect to rent equipment for their occasional job, or they’ll tell you
that brushing or rolling is just as good. We’ve made the investment in our own equipment and the end
result shows.
6Amazingly, we
find it typical that “competitors” don’t want to remove doors or re-hang them.
We always provide that service as a courtesy.
7A sure sign you’re not dealing with a professional. We have our own production shop, where we bring all
your “moving parts” (doors and drawers). We have the racks and room to spread
them out.
